I placed third in a small epee tournament today. Not a small achievement since I was by far the oldest person entered.

I've published two novels and I am working on a third. We live in Portland, Oregon now, a city I can recommend for writers. The Fall and Winter weather is so uniformly dreary that the distractions are few. Other than writing, my hobbies are sport fencing (epee) and ballroom dancing with my wife. Have you tried Rapier or longsword?
No, I am strictly a sport fencer. I used to fence foil and saber in college, but those weapons are too fast for me now.
